God loves a cheerful giver. This verse is often used before the offertory time in churches. When Paul writes to the Corinthian church, he was encouraging them to cheerfully give to the needy saints. Paul did not take a single penny from this offertory. Instead he worked from his own hands and made a living. We ought to help those who are in need and we should be very careful of those who come to us with Greed.
Give to the needy and not to the greedy.
