The writer urges us to grow more in the understanding of God and not just dwell in the fundamental teachings of Christ. There is also a strong warning for those who move away from Christ. A clear picture of heaven and hell is given in this chapter. We are also asked to endure with patience on this earth and hold on to God in all our deeds. The example of Abraham is stated in this chapter on how patiently he held on to God with faith.
